Trevor Sise dominates Hidden Hollow and Arrington charges to the top at Lawrenceburg!
Another AAS Raceweek with Two Races is in the books, for the first time it took us to the newly opened Hidden Hollow Speedway and to our first race in Indiana at Lawrenceburg Speedway.
We started our weekend in Kentucky at Hidden Hollow. In MyRacePass Hot Laps the last driver to get his lap in was the fastest. That meant that Trevor Sise got the Hot Laps Quick Time, with a time of 14.593. Oscar McCown ended up in second, his lap a 14.684, while Chris Chandler came in third, his time a 14.735.
Fourth and fifth were Brandon Fouts and Ryan Smith, their times 14.757 and 14.886.
In BHR Qualifying Trevor Sise would set the Quick Time yet again, this time his lap a 14.436. Chris Chandlers 14.546 and Ryan Smiths 14.599 put them in second and third. Tyler Arrington came in fourth, while Brandon Fouts got fifth. Thier Laps a 14.739 and 14.816.
O'Reilly Auto Parts Heat 1 saw Trevor Sise dominate the field, comfortably driving out front. Oscar McCown came in second, while Veronica McCann came in third. Ryan Smith finished fourth, while Brandon Fouts rounded out the top five.
Chris Chandler would be the dominator of Outside Groove Heat 2. Joshua Chesney would beat Tyler Arrington to second. Behind them Steve Stollings came in fourth, while Jake Madden finished fifth.
With that it was time for the Salute Your Troops 40. It was a clean race with only a few cautions, but not even the few restarts help anybody on getting close to Trevor Sise. Nobody could make a move, let alone just follow his high pace around the track, thus claiming his second win of the season.
With an amazing run in the second half of the race, Brandon Fouts drove up to second, while Chris Chandler finished third. Tyler Arrington and Oscar McCown rounded out the top five. The second half of the top ten is as follows: Joshua Chesney, Steve Stallings, Mathew Porter, Veronica McCann and Nathan Martin.
Then it was time, for the first time in AAS History, to drive to Indiana. The amazing facility at the Lawrenceburg Speedway awaited us.
MyRacePass Hot Laps saw Nicholas Byrd take the Quick Time with an 16.682. Tyler Arrington came in second, his time a 16.804. Ryan Smith finished third, 16.834, and Yesterday's winner Trevor Sise fourth, 16.944. The top five would be rounded out by Dwight Smith and his 17.065.
In BHR Qualifying it was Ryan Smith that topped the timing sheets, a 15.845 the Quick Time. Zane Powell came in second his time a 15.962. Nicholas Byrd, 16.193, and Tyler Jones,16.262, were third and fourth. Ethan Toedter rounded out the top five with his 16.275.
Ryan Smith would go on to win O'Reilly Auto Parts Heat 1 and secure the Inside Pole. Shane Crain and Josh Dietz were second and third. Joshua Chesney came in fourth, while Josh Harrison finished fifth.
In Outside Groove Heat 2 it was Zane Powell that dominated the field and secured the outside pole. Perry Parker charged to second while Ethan Toedter came in third. Brennen Adkins would finish fourth and Trevor Sise fifth.
PPM Racing Products Heat 3 saw Nicholas Byrd win Infront of Tyler Arrington who finished second. Logan Kirkman came in third, while Mathew Porter finished fourth. The top five was rounded out by William Harris.
With that it was time for the River City 40. Early Heartbreak for Ryan Smith as he dropped down the order enabling Zane Powell to drive out-front, being chased down by Josh Dietz. There fight one of many as the track gave the racers 4 lanes for amazing racing. But then around lap 30 heartbreak happened to Zane Powell and Nicholas Byrd. That setup Tyler Arrington on the Outside from which he went straight to the top after the restart. The points leader would keep his position and secure his third win of the season! Josh Dietz tried everything but had to settle for second while Trevor Sise came from deep to third making him the Hyperco Hard Charger. Joshua Chesney came in fourth and Perry Parker finished fifth. The second half of the Top ten is as follows: Ryan Smith, Ethan Toedter, Mathew Porter, Nicholas Byrd, Shane Crain.
